What We Do

Let’s say you’ve been contacted by film crew or a news reporter to talk about your recent experience with a controversial organization or person. Or maybe you are thinking about reaching out to your favorite podcaster or writer to contribute to their project. Some might be unfazed and even enthused by this. Others want to keep quiet because they feel nervous, suspicious, and vulnerable, especially if they have little experience speaking with the media. But a lack of preparation shouldn’t stop you if you’re ready to come forward.

Let’s talk.

We understand the challenges that come with going public but also believe in the importance of sharing stories that haven’t been told before. Ethical journalists and documentarians help keep institutions accountable and can actually contribute to change. But the creators producing this content have their own jobs to do and rules to follow. And those rules might come as a surprise to the uninitiated.

Know what you’re getting into and if you are ready for it. Get your questions answered before you are sitting in front of a camera. Accept what you can and can’t control when you go public, or decide that you don’t want to go public at all.

We offer media consulting, research, copy editing, outreach, and communication services. Please contact us for further details.

What is a Cult?

Our friends over at People Leave Cults provided us with the simple explanation above but we recognize that the word “cult” can be a loaded and more complicated term. We encourage people to use it if they find it to be an accurate description of their experience. A cult does not have to be religious or have a charismatic leader. Its dynamics can occur within a family, political group, workplace, online community, and personal relationships.
